When the interviewed Dick Cole at Oshkosh yesterday, they had all the B-25s lined up like they were on the Hornet.

Which reminds me. Have you seen Pearl Harbor ? I watched most of it the other day and found it to be a steaming pile of historical inaccuracy. Alec Baldwin as Jimmy Doolittle? An angled flight deck on the Hornet ? What a load of crap. It would have been simple to make it historically accurate, but why ruin a good Hollywood story with “facts?”
My favorite bit came when Baldwin as Doolittle was talking to the crews about getting the B-25s into the air off the Hornet and said, “Oh yes, you’ll get it up” while there was a B-25 in the background with its nose-mounted .50 pointing into the sky. Phallic symbol, anybody?

I like the single line painted down the center of the deck, too.

I watched it when it came out I think, but I went with my highschool girlfriend and I was more interested in her than the movie...
